I was driving home today when this gorgeous sunset was happening so I decided to find a building with lots of windows. Bingo! Perfect timing is everything!
This is at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee. Billy and I didn't choose the best weekend for a drive because it rained on us the entire time. At least I was in good company! The pic above is taken of Cane Creek Falls and Cascades. This to me was the prettiest spot. After I snapped this, there was a guy that climbed out on the ledge near the falls and sat there. His friends were egging him on to jump. Thank goodness he didn't! Fall Creek Falls was running about like this falls. Guess I need to wait until next March to get really majestic falls photo.
These men played a big part in my life and I love them all. My father, step-father and father-in-law. I lucked out with every one of them. It’s hard to believe they have all left this world but not my heart. ❤️
I'm really missing Maine about now! Billy and I went there this past September and covered 3/4 of the coast so I could get photos of the lighthouses on my list. This happens to be one of them - Marshall Point Lighthouse located in Port Clyde. Such a gorgeous place!. The light station was established in 1832. It also happens to be the lighthouse ramp that Tom Hanks ran on in the movie Forrest Gump. It's funny how much movies play a part in our lives after we see them. Many people ran up and down the ramp just because of that movie.
By the way, that's me in the photo taking a pic of it. I had an absolutely gorgeous day for taking photos! We are planning to go back and finish our road trip and I can hardly wait! The northeastern most point of Maine is our next destination!
I was sitting outdoors on my swing enjoying the evening and the sweet fragrance of my foster holly when I noticed that birds were everywhere! Mockingbirds, blackbirds, robins, and little swifts. Some were hurrying to find food for their little ones and get back to the nests while others were chasing away predators. In particular, I noticed one robin hopping around the yard after a Mockingbird. I'm assuming it was trying to chase it away from it's nest of babies. That went on for quite a while. The mockingbird in this photo was taking a break near my sidewalk so I decided to grab a quick pic! Oh, the joys of springtime!
